Aspen Glow and Ha Ling Peak, Canmore
Plein air oil painting 8x10 on canvas board. On this warm fall afternoon, I was surrounded by a splendid aspen forest. The sun would not be out long. I set up my easel quickly to capture the moment. One must capture the light first as that is the most fickle thing. Ha Ling Peak, above Canmore, Alberta, sat in the background and the foreground forest was full of colour. All too soon the clouds came in, and in the chill late afternoon, I finished off my "moment". It had taken several hours to capture.
