Way Back When
24x18 inch oil painting done on deep canvas. We spent a pleasant day in the fall roaming the backroads of northern Washington. We passed many abandoned homes, including this one close to Chesaw. The huge leaning tree seemed protective of the old building adding a nurturing flavour to the scene. I love painting old buildings. They have such character. There used to be a purpose to them, but now they sit alone and forgotten. If they could only talk, the tales they could tell of the people who used to live there.
