Being in "my" mountains brings me so much pleasure and inspiration. I love mountains and they are often involved in a scene I paint.
We live in the Rocky Mountain Trench in the small town of Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia. Here I am surrounded by beauty in all directions. Since we moved here from Revelstoke in the Fall of 2017, I now have a lovely walk-out basement which has become my studio and a gallery, where visitors are welcome (during Covid I will display paintings people are interested in outside to honour physical distancing). It's a far cry from the end of the kitchen table where I painted while we lived in Revelstoke. I have arrived!
My approach to painting is a traditional one, and I represent my material in a realistic manner. Oil paints are my medium of choice, but I also use acrylics.
I'm a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. I have one of my paintings on the cover of a published book, I've taught oil painting classes, done artist residencies, and have a few pieces hanging in public collections. Singing, community theatre, quilting, and stained glass are other things I really enjoy.
Besides my studio, I also have this web site where people shop for affordable art work on line. None of my paintings are copied in any form, except for art cards, so collectors are assured of a totally original piece of art.
I have collectors from as far away as Tasmania, and as close as my neighbours, with many hanging in places in between.
Please free to contact me via this site and I will get back to you right away. I always enjoy talking to people about my art and sharing my ideas with them.
